Natalie Dawson has been a wilderness guide, wildlife biologist, professor, waitress, writer, business owner, and she continues an energetic and adventurous pursuit of asking questions without answers.

Her recent essays can be found in High Country News, Backcountry Magazine, and Audubon magazine. She lives within site of one of Alaska’s most contentious mining projects, and shares a yurt with her husband, two ravens and a pine marten.
