Yes, the majority of the state is arid. Water comes in winter when mountain ranges collect snow ins summer that water flows down the rivers and is used for drinking water and irrigation. Have you ever flushed a toilet in New Mexico or Arizona? That&#039;s snowmelt. That snow is not falling in volumes of 20 or 30 years ago. It&#039;s called a drought.

And if you need some help with some basic thinking you might go to &quot;How things work,&quot; it&#039;s a good series for people who want to know how the world works.]]></description>
