I lived on the south fork of the American in Northern California when it was still a wild river. I suspect the hydroelectric output from the dam half mile from my house was never as potent and useful as expected, and certainly the water and shore habitat was almost immediately ruined, and remains ruined to this day. Thank you for the coverage, Becca and Writers on the Range.
